Healthy & Enjoyable Holi Celebration Tips-

Holi is a time for colors, joy, and festive treats, but it’s also important to balance fun with health!

Here are some tips to keep you feeling light, refreshed, and energetic throughout the celebrations:

 

Eat Mindfully & Enjoy Every Bite

 

  • Stick to two balanced meals a day to avoid overeating.
  • Eat proper dinner one day before Holi.
  • Take poha ( with lemon juice) or 2 banana in breakfast on Holi – as this festival is very involving –
  • so you need carbohydrates. ( egg and sprouts may cause acidity later in day).
  • Take steamed dahi bhalle – in between.
  • Take soothing lunch – like curd rice or khichdi with curd, papad and green chutney or idli sambhar
  • or aloo n dahi chaat or khichdi n dahi bhalle.
  • Evening- banana or cucumber sandwich or fruit chaat or fruit raita – will be best.
  • Dinner should be either light – khichdi or roti and lauki or Palak paneer or mix veg pulav with raita
  • Or dinner can be protein – barbecue chicken or fish
  • Combine high protein food with steamed vegetables.
  • Choose barbecue or roasted over deep-fried snacks. Opt for tandoori platters instead of heavy curries.

Stay Hydrated with Cooling Drinks

  • Have plenty of hydrating, gut-friendly drinks like:
  • Mint-Cucumber Buttermilk (soothing & probiotic-rich)
  • Rose-Pomegranate Lassi (cooling & antioxidant-packed)
  • Coconut Water with Sabja Seeds (natural electrolyte boost)
  • Green & Blue Spirulina Coolers (detoxifying & energy-boosting)
  • If consuming alcohol, alternate with water or coconut water to prevent dehydration.

Keep Your Digestion Light & Cool

  • Start your day with soaked dry fruits to energize without bloating.
  • Add curd, mint, fennel, and cardamom to meals to cool your system.
  • Avoid excess sweets; try jaggery-based desserts instead of sugar-heavy ones.
